Parecía que Novak después del primer set tan bueno que hizo sería el campeón de una manera mas fácil pero la garra de Juan Martín estuvo presiente en todo el partido. El argentino estaba muy motivado tras ganar a Nadal y presentaba una gran concentración durante todo el partido.
Así, el serbio ganó en el Tie-Break por 7-3 que iba muy igualado hasta que Del Potro fallo una bola decisiva en la que no se pudo levantar. Era la primera vez que pensaba que no podía ganar el partido.
Djokovic se mostró más fresco en la recta final del duelo y así lo demostró.
El serbio consigue revalidar el título de 2.012 en la final que ganó a Andy Murray para ganar su 15º corona. Se ve como un serio candidato a ganar los próximos títulos como son el Master de París o la Copa de Maestros.
Por otra parte el argentino también se ha clasificado para la Copa Masters al obtener la victoria ante Rafa Nadal.
